Pomona, CA — May 29, 2026 — Fee-waived adoptions available as part of statewide effort to help thousands of shelter pets find loving homes
Pomona, Calif. — Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA (IVHS) will join animal shelters across California on Saturday, June 6, for the third annual California Adopt-a-Pet Day, offering fee-waived adoptions for available dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens.
In cooperation with CalAnimals, the San Francisco SPCA, and the ASPCA®, the statewide event aims to connect more than 5,000 shelter pets with loving homes in a single day.
“At IVHS, we see every day how life-changing adoptions can be — not only for the animals in our care, but for the families who welcome them home,” said Nikole Bresciani, President/CEO. “California Adopt-a-Pet Day gives our community an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by not only helping pets leave the shelter but also to find a loving home.”
IVHS joins hundreds of shelters and rescue organizations participating throughout California in response to ongoing shelter capacity challenges. During last year’s event, nearly 5,000 pets were adopted statewide.
Animals available for adoption from IVHS are already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and ready to go home. Shelter staff will be available to help match adopters with pets that best fit their lifestyle.
