Hi there, I'm Checkers! I'm a big, lovable pup around a year old, and I've got the perfect mix of playful energy and laid-back charm. I'm house trained (go me!) and have a solid potty routine-just let me eat first, then I'll handle my business like a pro.I'm a social butterfly on walks-people, dogs, birds, lizards-you name it, I want to say hi! I do pretty well on a leash with a little help and redirection. At night, I sleep in my kennel and do great, but during the day I'd rather be out and about-I've even figured out how to unlock the bottom latch! (Don't worry, my foster humans outsmarted me... for now.)I love kids, visitors, car rides, and cuddles-basically anyone or anything that gives me attention. I'll nudge you, lean on you, or just plop in your lap to remind you I'm here for all the love. I'm still working on a few manners (sorry about the stuffies, I just can't resist a good squeak), but I already know how to sit and wait to cross the street.If you're looking for a sweet, silly, affectionate best friend with just enough mischief to keep things fun, I'm your guy.
