National “Check the Chip Day” – August 15th, 2024

Pomona, CA – On Thursday August 15th, from 9:00am to 11:00am, the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. (IVHS) will be hosting a special event in recognition of National “Check the Chip Day” at the Alex & Elisabeth Lewyt Medical Center located at 584 Humane Way, Pomona, CA 91766. This event is dedicated to ensuring your pets are safe and easily identifiable through their microchips.

Local animal owners can take advantage of walk-up services where IVHS staff will assist with:

  • Free Microchip Scanning: Bring your pets and an IVHS staff member will scan their microchips to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Assistance with Updating Microchip Information: Customer care representatives will help update any outdated information on your pet’s microchip, ensuring that you can be contacted in case your pet gets lost.
  • Walk-Up Microchipping: For a reduced price of $30, animal owners can have their pet microchipped on the spot during event hours at the Alex and Elisabeth Lewyt Medical Center.

Microchipping is a simple and effective way to protect your pets. By participating in National “Check the Chip Day,” you can ensure that your pet’s microchip is up to date, giving you peace of mind and increasing the likelihood of a happy reunion if your pet ever gets lost. This event will be open to all animal owners regardless of city of residence.
