September 8, 2021, Pomona, CA – Effective September 13th, the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. (IVHS) will switch to a hybrid adoption system which will entail both in-person adoption appointments as well as shelter visiting hours. This hybrid method will provide for a better customer service experience while keeping the animals, customers and staff safe as we continue to navigate COVID-19.
Our in-person adoption appointments will be available from 9:00am-12:00pm, Monday-Saturday. Along with these adoption appointments, we will continue to provide shelter viewing hours, with social distancing and mask wearing protocols in place, from 1:30pm-3:30pm on Mondays-Saturdays, with the exception of Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Adoption appointments will be released every Sunday and Wednesday with each appointment lasting 45 minutes.
Appointments can be accessed via a scheduling link on our website, IVHSSPCA.org. To make an appointment, potential adopters must provide the animal ID of the available animal they are interested in. Only animals that have cleared their holding period are available for adoption each day. Our adoption counselors will work to match adopters with their perfect four-legged “companion for life”. No appointment is necessary for viewing hours.
Along with adoption appointments, we will continue to offer the “Foster to Hold” program for those interested in opening their home to a pet temporarily.
The Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. will continue to assist the community in finding their perfect furry friend while ensuring health and safety protocols are met by all staff and shelter visitors. To see a comprehensive list of IVHS’ temporarily adjusted operations, visit here.
