Pomona, CA – Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA (IVHS) and San Gabriel Valley Humane Society (SGVHS) are pleased to announce they are joining forces, effective July 1, 2025. This new partnership capitalizes on 175 years of animal welfare experience and enables the combined organization to expand high-quality programs and services to a broader community in the San Gabriel Valley, ensuring greater support for pet adoptions, veterinary care, and community education initiatives.
IVHS is excited to welcome SGVHS into its family, strengthening a shared commitment to animal welfare. “Together, we can leverage our resources including the talents and dedication of our employees and volunteers to provide exceptional care and compassion for animals in need,” said Nikole Bresciani, President & CEO of IVHS.
Founded in 1924, San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has strong community ties and will continue to operate under its name. SGVHS contracts with the cities of San Gabriel, Temple City and Duarte to provide a full range of animal services, including animal control, animal sheltering and adoptions.
“IVHS is a respected and high performing animal services non-profit and the future of SGVHS is in good hands with Nikole and her team. This partnership will allow us to further our mission of focusing on animal care, including the renovation of our aging facility, by leveraging our combined resources. The future is bright for animals in the San Gabriel Valley and we couldn’t be more excited for the communities we serve,” said Cindy Rigney, President of SGVHS.
During the transition, both shelters will continue operating as usual. Once complete, the community will benefit from expanded programs, access to IVHS’s veterinary medical services, and enhanced outreach initiatives. This move marks a new chapter in animal welfare, bringing greater resources and support to pets and their owners in the San Gabriel Valley.
“Our team cares deeply about animal welfare, and we are all excited to expand our impact across the San Gabriel Valley. The people and communities we serve can look forward to more options and deeper resources to support their pets and other animals in need,” said Carl Lepper, Chairman of IVHS’ Board of Directors.
