The Walk

Remember to start fundraising early. Be enthusiastic about what you are doing, and your supporters will be enthusiastic about it, too! Every penny you raise will go directly to the hundreds of stray, homeless, and abused animals we care for every day. We hope these tips will help you achieve your goals! Good luck!

1) Email your supporters!

Take advantage of our free, online fundraising tool that allows you to customize your very own web page and send out e-mails to everyone you know to ask for their support!

2) Send a fundraising letter!

Send a traditional letter to people you know telling them about the event and asking for their support. Don't forget to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. For a sample of our fundraising letter click here!

3) Find out if your employer will match your donation!

Many employers offer matching gifts, and this is an excellent way to double, sometimes even triple your donation! And even if your company doesn't match gifts, be sure to solicit support anyway by asking your boss, company, and fellow employees to sponsor you!

4) Involve your local businesses!

Solicit support by asking local businesses that you frequent to sponsor you!

5) Host a bake sale, yard sale, or other event.

6) Have a party, and in lieu of gifts, ask everyone to sponsor you by making a small donation!

7) Get your kids and their classmates involved! Ask teachers to start a pennies for pets fundraiser!

Be creative and don't forget to ask! People will donate, but you have to ask first!
