Pet Connections Inc. proves successful with the August 17, 2011 launch of The Big Meow, a no-cost spay and neuter program. This program was offered to the community as a start to finding a solution for cat overpopulation. Yesterday, 151 cats were spayed and neutered at the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A, exceeding their expectations for The Big Meow. “It is the beginning of the end,” said Bill Harford, President/CEO, Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. “There will be a solution to cat overpopulation; The Big Meow was the beginning.” The Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. has continuously educated the community about the importance of spaying and neutering pets. In addition to each no-cost spay and neuter, cats received free FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, one month supply of Frontline for flea and tick control, Homeagain micro-chipping, basic medical care at time of surgery and educational material. “With the overwhelming response to The Big Meow, we will do our best to offer it again, to the community at a later date,” said Harford. “Overpopulation will end, and it is our job to see it unfold. We have made a difference in saving the lives of unwanted cats and kitten, and we will continue to do so.” About Inland Valley Humane Society About Pet Connections Inc. |
