    Presentations

All of our programs are currently being offered to school aged children: kindergarten through high school, youth and scout groups, college lectures and beyond. Live animals accompany many of the programs whenever possible. The well being of the animal always comes first.

If you do not see a program listed here that you are interested in, please call our Education Department and let us know.

Responsible Pet Ownership
This program is geared toward all ages and covers the basics and beyond of pet care and the need for responsible pet owners. Spay and neutering is stressed as well as dog training and proper veterinary care. Live animals may be a part of the visit.

Dog Bite Prevention
Thousands of children are bitten by dogs every month, most by their own dogs. Most of these bites could have been prevented by understanding our dogs and why they bite. Dog Bite Prevention is geared as a training program for children to understand when not to pet a dog and what they can do to help prevent bites. For older children and adults reading and understanding dog body language and why dogs bite is stressed. A video, dog puppet and live dog are part of the program.

Local Wildlife
We live in an area filled with many different types of wildlife. Through our wildlife program we discuss the types of animals in the area, their habits and diets. Solutions for wildlife problems are offered. Safety issues are also covered including bite prevention and rabies. Rattlesnake, mountain lion and bear safety are included in the presentation. Photos, puppets, and skins are used.

Disaster Preparedness
Everyone is ready for the big earthquake, fire or flood. But what about your pets? Have you included them in your plans? This program covers the simple steps you can take to include your companion animals in your disaster plan. How to make a disaster kit and what to do with your animals in case of a disaster are include in this presentation. All types of animals are discussed.
